There are four Shrek movies: 

  • Shrek (2001): The first movie in the franchise, directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson. The movie follows the story of an ogre named Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) who sets out on a quest to rescue a princess named Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz) from a dragon and bring her back to the villainous Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow). 
  • Shrek 2 (2004): Directed by Andrew Adamson, Kelly Asbury, and Conrad Vernon, the second movie sees Shrek and Fiona returning from their honeymoon to find her parents are unhappy with their daughter’s choice of husband.   • Shrek the Third (2007): Directed by Chris Miller and Raman Hui, the third movie has Shrek facing a crisis when the king of Far Far Away (voiced by John Cleese) falls ill, and he must find a suitable replacement. He decides to find the king’s nephew, Arthur (voiced by Justin Timberlake), who is attending school at a faraway kingdom. 
  • Shrek Forever After (2010): Directed by Mike Mitchell, the fourth and final movie sees Shrek making a deal with the villainous Rumpelstiltskin (voiced by Walt Dohrn) to relive a day from his past as a free and respected ogre. But the deal has disastrous consequences, and Shrek must find a way to set things right before he loses everything he loves.
