“Con Air” is a 1997 American action thriller movie directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film stars Nicolas Cage, John Malkovich, and John Cusack, among others.

The plot of “Con Air” revolves around Cameron Poe (played by Nicolas Cage), a former Army Ranger who is released from prison after serving time for accidentally killing a man while defending his pregnant wife. He is placed on a transport plane along with a group of dangerous criminals, including the notorious Cyrus “The Virus” Grissom (played by John Malkovich).

When Cyrus and his fellow inmates take control of the plane, Cameron must use his military training to try to stop them and save the innocent passengers and crew members on board. Meanwhile, U.S. Marshal Vince Larkin (played by John Cusack) works to coordinate a rescue mission on the ground.

“Con Air” features intense action sequences, explosive stunts, and memorable performances by its cast, including Steve Buscemi as a serial killer who boards the plane, and Danny Trejo as one of the convicts. The movie was a commercial success, grossing over $224 million worldwide and receiving mixed to positive reviews from critics.

Despite being criticized for its excessive violence and over-the-top characters, “Con Air” has remained a popular action movie and a cult classic among fans of the genre. Its success also helped to establish Nicolas Cage as a leading action star of the late 1990s.
