“A League of Their Own” is a television series that is based on the 1992 movie of the same name. The show premiered on CBS on July 10, 2022, and is executive produced by Abbi Jacobson, who also stars in the show. 

The series is set during World War II and tells the story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL), which was founded in 1943 as a way to keep baseball alive while many of the men were off fighting in the war. The show follows a group of women as they become trailblazers in sports, facing challenges and discrimination along the way. 

Abbi Jacobson plays Carson Shaw, a former player who returns to the AAGPBL to coach a team of misfit players. The show also stars D’Arcy Carden, Chanté Adams, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, and Kelly McCormack as members of the team. 

The show is praised for its diverse cast and its depiction of women’s empowerment. It tackles issues such as sexism, racism, and homophobia, and celebrates the strength and resilience of women in the face of adversity.
