Johnny Depp played the character Glen Lantz in the 1984 horror movie “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” Glen is one of the main characters in the movie and is the boyfriend of the film’s protagonist, Nancy Thompson (played by Heather Langenkamp).
Glen is portrayed as a typical teenage boy who is interested in his girlfriend, music and having a good time with his friends. However, as the movie progresses, he becomes embroiled in the nightmare world of the film’s villain, Freddy Krueger (played by Robert Englund).
Glen is shown to be brave and loyal to Nancy, but also somewhat naive and careless. He ignores Nancy’s warnings about the danger posed by Freddy Krueger and continues to sleep despite the risks. This ultimately leads to his demise, as he is killed by Freddy in a gruesome and iconic scene where he is sucked into his bed and spewed out as a fountain of blood.
Johnny Depp’s performance as Glen in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” helped to establish him as a rising star in Hollywood and contributed to the film’s enduring popularity as a horror classic.
