Anya Taylor-Joy is an actress born on April 16, 1996, in Miami, Florida, but raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and London, England. She is best known for her roles in horror and thriller movies, including “The Witch” (2015), “Split” (2016), and “The Queen’s Gambit” (2020). 

Taylor Joy began her career as a model before transitioning into acting. She made her acting debut in the horror film “The Witch,” for which she received critical acclaim for her performance as the lead character, Thomasin. She went on to star in several other movies, including “Split” and its sequel “Glass,” “Thoroughbreds,” and “Emma.” 

Taylor Joy has also appeared in television series, including the Netflix miniseries “The Queen’s Gambit,” where she played the lead character, Beth Harmon. Her performance in the series received critical acclaim and earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Television Film, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie. 

Outside of her acting career, Taylor-Joy is known for her unique fashion sense and has been named a fashion icon by several publications. She is also fluent in Spanish, having grown up in Argentina.
